ARIES is a standalone, offline-first investigation management tool designed for professional investigators operating in the rail industry and related government agency contexts. It provides a structured, auditable record of all investigative activity from initial incident notification through to final findings and recommendations.
Each investigation is managed as a discrete incident containing a chronological log of entries — conversations, interviews, emails, site visits, documents and evidence items — each timestamped and sequentially numbered for chain of evidence integrity. Investigators can record lines of enquiry, contributing factors, recommended actions, and a full sequence of events. All data is saved locally to a JSON file and nothing is transmitted externally.
ARIES is a single-file HTML application — no installation, no server, no internet connection required. It runs entirely within Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. Data is persisted to a local aries.json file. Backups are downloaded manually and named with a date stamp. The application is designed to operate within corporate environments subject to restrictive IT policies.
